The Western Region Coastal Foundation (WRCF) piloted an aquaculture intervention in three coastal districts in the western region between 2016 and early 2018. The intervention trained about 264 people practicing or interested in fish farming in these coastal districts in improved aquaculture technology to move the micro-industry from subsistence to commercial production and improve the incomes of fish farmers. Out of these 264 farmers, the project further trained 120 farmers belonging to 4 farmer-based associations in the Jomoro and Nzema East districts using 8 demonstration ponds.
